You've heard about running the AppleTV OS and BackRow, but you just haven't found that "perfect" setup. Welcome to something different. Welcome to the All-in-One, FrontRow replacing BackRow Installer. Now you can keep your existing system (no more DMG's and USB drives).
How to:
Download the DMG file (link below), mount it, and run the BackRow for Mac 1.1 installer. Follow the directions and type in your password when asked to by the installer. Restart your Mac (important). Now, simply press "Menu" on your Apple Remote, and up comes BackRow. I suggest quitting it for now, as you have to set up your content to stream. Quit BackRow, and open iTunes (7.2 or later). In the iTunes menu, click Preferences. Go to the AppleTV tab and check "Look for Apple TV's". Click OK, but don't close iTunes. Now, open System Preferences in the Apple Menu, and select Displays. In the screen resolution menu on the left, choose "800 x 600". Click OK and close System Preferences. Now, press "Menu" on your Apple Remote, and BackRow should come up in a smaller window. Go to "Sources" and then "Connect to New iTunes". A code should appear. Now Press "Alt + Tab" and choose the iTunes icon. you may need to move over the iTunes window to see your source list, and under Devices, you should see Apple TV. Click on it and type in your code. Now you can click back onto the BackRow application, and navigate to the main menu to quit. Now you're all set, press the "Menu" buttton on your remote, and a fully-set BackRow should come up. To view your iTunes content, go to Sources and select your music share (Dan's Music...MacBook Music, etc.)Credit to Semthex and the Hackint0sh Community, along with the helpful people on IRC and YouTube. You've all helped make this a successful release.
If at all possible, just a penny would really help. If not, watch the VuMe video, it also helps! Maybe help out in testing, give feedback... Any help is appreciated! For more information, email me at crimsonredmk@gmail.com
